Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how DeepBook ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your information when you use the DeepBook app and website. By using DeepBook you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: first and last name, username, email address, date of birth, password (stored securely by our authentication provider) and, optionally, phone number.
- Profile and content: profile photo, banner, bio, posts, photos, comments, stories and private messages (including photos) that you send.
- Activity: likes, follows, friend requests, views, blocks and reports.
- Technical data: IP address and device/browser information recorded when you log in or register, and your online / last seen status.
- Payout details: bank, wallet or PayPal details you add in order to receive earnings, and your withdrawal history.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and operate DeepBook: show your feed, deliver messages and notifications, display your profile.
- To keep the community safe: prevent abuse, fake accounts, spam and fraud (this is why we record login IP addresses).
- To calculate earnings and process withdrawal requests.
- To show ads and sponsored content in your feed.
- To respond to support requests and send important service announcements.
3. Who can see your information
- Your name, username, photo, bio, posts, and follower counts are visible to other users (posts and stories of private accounts are visible only to approved followers).
- Your email, phone number and date of birth are not shown on your public profile.
- Messages are visible only to you and the person you message.
- Payout details are visible only to you and DeepBook administrators.
- Your online status can be turned off in Settings.
4. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers needed to run the app: Supabase (database, authentication and file storage) and a public IP lookup service (ipify) used to detect your IP address at login. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users.
5. Permissions
The app may ask for access to your photos/files so you can choose images for posts, stories, messages and your profile. We do not access your photos without your action. We do not collect your precise location, contacts, microphone or camera data.
6. Data retention and deletion
Stories disappear after 24 hours. You can delete your posts and messages at any time. You can permanently delete your account and associated data directly in the app (Settings → Delete Account) or on our Delete Account page. See that page for details on what is deleted.
7. Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile information at any time.
- Make your account private, hide your online status, block users and report content.
- Change your password in Settings.
- Request access, correction or deletion of your data by emailing hasnainbhai1315z@gmail.com.
8. Security
We use industry-standard tools (encrypted connections, access controls) to protect your data, but no online service can be 100% secure. Please keep your password private.
9. Children
DeepBook is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
10. International users
Your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country. By using DeepBook you consent to this transfer.
